Rent your boat in Palau! Discover all the Wonders!
Clear blue waters and sculpted rocks make it unique. Palau is set in a cove sheltered by the north wind, next to the exclusive Costa Smeralda and in front of the enchanting park of the Maddalena archipelago. The life of the village, born in the late nineteenth century and inhabited by four thousand residents in winter and by tens of thousands of tourists in summer, moves around tourism and the port. Local, lights and events enliven the summer nights.

Near the town, on a granite promontory shaped by time, appears a natural sculpture that seems to have been shaped by an artist: it is the rock of the Bear, symbol of Palau, with its head facing the sea. The geographer Ptolemy has attested to his knowledge since antiquity: the ancient sailors used it as a reference point. The landscape of Capo d’Orso is fascinating and interesting, thanks to tafone tombs and remains from the Neolithic age. In the depths in front lie wrecks of various ages. Other sites to visit are the nuraghe Luchìa, placed to control the mouths of Bonifacio, and the tombs of the Giants of Li Mizzani and Sajacciu, near the church of San Giorgio. Heading towards Don Diego, you will visit the Talmone Military Battery. Another fortress is on Mount Altura, a vantage point over the entire marine area.

From one end to the other of the territory of Palau alternate granite coasts and sandy stretches, such as the Sciumara beach and the evocative coast with the northern atmosphere of Porto Faro. Continuing westward, the renowned Porto Rafael reveals an exclusive aspect, with luxurious villas and a marina framed by olive, myrtle and lavender. Follow the indomitable beauty of Punta Sardegna and the exotic features of Cala Trana, a beach protected by dunes, set between huge granite rocks and characterized by sand tending to pink. In the direction of Santa Teresa Gallura, there is the naturalistic paradise of the Isuledda or Isola dei Gabbiani. In reality, it is a peninsula, joined by an isthmus of sand and surrounded by the turquoise sea. Two beaches fan out: on one side the Arenaria and on the other Porto Pollo.
